No, I do not use lens sleeves. The messenger bag is just big enough for one camera and lens, so I would just put the camera inside the main pocket, and did this traveling around the world for a year and the camera was well protected, without additional lens sleeves. Cheers, Julie

In one of your packing guides you mentioned using a Pacsafe messenger bag as a camera bag. Do you use lens sleeves to protect lenses inside the messenger bag? Thank you for all your help planning trips!

We do shoot in RAW and I use Lightroom for processing the photos. I bump up the saturation, contrast, and clarity just a little bit, and typically reduce any highlights and brighten shadows. I don’t do too much, because it’s important for me to have our photos look natural, rather than overly saturated or contrasty. I’m also a fan of the Nik Collection to add a little more punch, reduce the graininess of photos taken at a high ISO, and convert some photos to black and white. Cheers, Julie

Thanks for sharing your camera setup. I love this website and it helped me a lot during my recent Iceland trip.
My question is if you are shooting in RAW what post-processing software have you used? Also, do you have any tips for making your RAW images standout as far as color, exposure etc is concerned.

Thanks.

Hello Lee. Yes, I have heard reports where tripods can be confiscated during airport check-in, if you place them in carry on luggage. We always pack our tripod in a checked suitcase to avoid this and haven’t had any issues. That’s awesome that you travel carry-on only – we usually have enough things that can’t go into carry on that we have at least one checked bag. Cheers, Julie
