In reply to Michelle Raffety. You could, but look into the ferry schedules to get an estimate as to how much time it would add on each morning and evening, as it could take a lot of time. And get updated prices for the ferries, and add that onto a hotel cost in St. Thomas, to see what the savings is versus staying on St. John. Then you will have to weigh the cost savings against the time to ride the ferry round trip each day. After all that, it might not be worth it, but it's worth looking into. Cheers, Julie

To visit St. Thomas and St. John’s is it possible to stay on the east side of St. Thomas and just travel on the ferry back and forth each day? Seems like lodging on St. Thomas is much more affordable than St. John’s.

In reply to Christa. Tim and I visited Puerto Rico on two separate occasions, many years ago. From what we saw, we enjoyed it. We took one cruise (in 2000) to Jamaica, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel and they were nice too. However, there are places in the Caribbean that we liked more, such as this trip to the Virgin Islands and Aruba. I would love to visit Dominica and I have heard really good things about Anguilla. We keep saying that we need to explore the Caribbean more, as it is easy to get to from where we live...but so many places to go! I hope this helps! Cheers, Julie

Hi, our families travel style is similar to yours. We plan to travel to the Caribbean in the spring and are considering Puerto Rico. Any thoughts on Puerto Rico compared to the other Caribbean Islands? Thanks!
