Hello Oksana. The Puez hike was one of the first hikes we did in the Dolomites, on our first trip to the Dolomites, and it just blew us away. The views, having apfelstrudel at the mountain hut, and we also like its longer, challenging aspect. We’ve done Geisler Alm. It’s also very nice. We have not done the rifugio you mentioned, or the gondola (ran out of time on our second trip, but it will be the first thing we do when we return to the Dolomites). One of the things that we love about the Dolomites is that we keep hearing of more great hikes to do. This is a gorgeous spot and I hope you have a wonderful trip next June. Cheers, Julie

Thank you!]]> Hello, Julie! I am surprised to see Puez Odle Altopiano as #1 hike for you. What made it beat all other hikes and views? Thank you! (Heading to Cortina and Val Gardena in June 2026)

Did you ever do Geisleralm hike and is it worth it? What about Rifugio Friedrich Augusto (we are staying there one night for donuts 🤣)? Did you do Sassolungo coffin gondola?

Thank you!

Since Cinque Torri and Cadini are so short, and Tofana is really just a cable car ride, you could do all of them in one very busy day. But spreading them over 2 days would be ideal: 1 day for Cinque Torri (consider adding on Rifugios Averau and Nuvolau) + Tofana, and day 2 for Cadini di Misurina (consider adding on Tre Cime di Lavaredo or Lago di Braies). Cheers, Julie

After visiting Ortisei, we would like to hike around Cortina. We would love to visit Cinque Torri, Cadina d’ Misurina, and Tofana di Mezzo. How many nights would you recommend?

Hello Dave. That sounds like a dream to live on Lago Maggiore. Yes, you can do the Lago di Sorapis hike in the opposite direction, and I think it would actually be easier to hike up that gravelly section than going down it. It will be a beast of a climb, but you are much less likely to slip and fall. Plus you would have great views on the descent down to Lago di Sorapis. We did it in the other direction simply because we weren’t sure if we were going to hike the full loop, making that decision once we got to the lake. I’m really glad we did, because that section of trail (Lago di Sorapis and up and over Forcella Marcuoira) is the best part of the hike, in my opinion. We’d love to explore that part of Italy, plus go wine tasting in Piedmont, as it all looks amazing. We are looking at a return trip to Italy in 2026 or 2027… Have a great time in the Dolomites! Cheers, Julie
